Categories and quotas
What the category and quota labels in the predictor mean, and how the tool uses them. Always confirm current rules on the official NBEMS and MCC websites.
Qualifying percentiles
To be eligible for counselling a candidate must reach the qualifying percentile in NEET PG: the 50th percentile for General and EWS candidates, the 45th percentile for General candidates with a benchmark disability (PwBD), and the 40th percentile for SC, ST and OBC candidates (including their PwBD candidates). These figures come from the NBEMS information bulletin and can change from year to year, so check the bulletin for your exam cycle.
Candidate categories
General (open), EWS (economically weaker sections), OBC (non-creamy layer), SC and ST. PwBD (persons with benchmark disabilities) is a separate reservation that applies within these categories.
In this tool, a General candidate is compared with open seats. EWS, OBC, SC and ST candidates are compared with open seats plus seats of their own category, because they can contest both.
All India quota
Seats filled through MCC counselling for candidates from any state. This includes government colleges and institutional quotas such as Delhi University, IP University, AMU, BHU, minority and Armed Forces seats, which the tool labels separately so they do not distort the open All India cutoffs.
State quota and state counselling
Each state runs its own counselling for its state-quota seats, with its own rules, rounds and category codes. The tool currently includes Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana lists. Kerala uses its own community codes, and some Karnataka and Kerala seat codes are not yet decoded, so those rows are left out rather than guessed.
Management, NRI and deemed seats
Management (paid) and NRI seats are filled on rank but carry higher fees. Deemed universities run these through MCC, and for 49 deemed colleges the tool shows the seat table exactly as published, including fee, stipend, bond and beds as printed. Those fees are unverified, and the tables do not say whether a fee is per year or for the whole course.
PwD seats
PwD-reserved seats are a separate pool. They are shown only to PwD candidates, and clearly labelled, so they are never mixed into ordinary seat cutoffs.
